Tribute to Harriet Beecher Stowe

Oilpainting: Tribute to Harriet Beecher Stowe
Tribute to Harriet Beecher Stowe

Still from video about a different review
of Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Link below.

I had to make this tribute because I knew about her great role in abolishing slavery and after realising her phenomenal contribution in putting the Golden Rule above the literal text of the Bible.

This painting is on a heptagonal, wooden carrier I made myself with the help of my brother. Its ‘diameter’ is a little less than 60 cm. Alkyd paint.

Like all my paintings this one is for sale too. My prices are only partially based on the amount of time I invested and my estimate if I did a really good job. The most important aspect is: can I separate from it?

This one is in the ‘category’: not my very best painting but I am really, really pleased with the result.
In paying tribute to JKRowling and George Orwell, I had begun to include, in addition to the face of the person portrayed, some elements referring to her/his major social role. Here that has worked out even better.
