That shopping cart emoji in the menu is generated with a tool. Nice isn’t it?
Since I subscribed to the platform of that tool anyway, I thought I could use it for other emojis as well. That was a bit disappointing. Or rather, it led to some shocking discoveries.
I asked for an emoji for the term ‘misogyny‘. The answer was NSFW. ‘sacrifice‘: ditto. Rather strange: those subjects are too serious?
I didn’t even try ‘sex slavery’ but I did try: ‘Trump‘. Ditto!
Asking for an emoji of Trump also yielded the response: Not Suitable For Workspace.
On the internet in general that indicates: this is pornographic or violent material.
Now I have come across such a bizarre form of censorship before. See link below. Back then I couldn’t even get around it by using ‘POTUS45’ or ‘POTUS47’. With this tool I could. It produced that bizarre image that I use here as a ‘featured image’.
Trump himself is not depicted beautiful but also not as overtly ugly, stupid or evil. But take a closer look at the people around him: all faces are angry and most of them are even horribly disfigured!
Joe and Kamala are sad ..
And this is what you get when you ask this software to produce an emoji of Biden and Harris. It is titled ‘hugging in sadness‘.
(Yes: like other kinds of Artificial Intelligence this one has problems with counting fingers too)
Isaac, Ishmael and Iphigenia
Searching for emoji’s that could be a little bit more specific about misogyny in Abrahamic Religions I also tried the names of that two ‘biblical’ sons among Abraham’s eight sons -Isaac and Ishmael and the daughter of the horrible Jephthah: Iphigenia. The three children that were almost sacrificed of which only the girl was actually burned to thank a god.
Searching for Iphigenia of course did not result in anything useful.
Testosterone versus oestrogene
It got even more insane.
Asking to produce an emoji of ‘testosterone‘ yielded NSFW again. But ‘oestogene‘ was allowed as a request.
The result was this … an old male.
Uphill battle
Civilized conservatives – so not misogynists and/or neocons – still have to fight uphill battles.
Not only a fight against communist and/or nihilistic politicians, against bogus scientific boards of universities and against that fixation of lawyers on the pursuit of ‘one global civilization’; a pursuit which they lead. In addition, that focus on intentions and looking away from any reality is deeply ingrained in all kinds of software.
