This tribute to India’s both very successful and popular prime minister Narendra Modi I painted with alkyd. He is the leader of the by far biggest democracy in the world and under his leadership -since 2002- India is doing very well economically.
Western fools
Allmost every single politician, journalist and ‘political scientist’ in the West completely underestimates the importance of India and of the greatest statesman of the 21th century.
They even seem to simply deny his huge popularity.
Later I will write about reasons behind this foolishness. Here I just lift a tip of the veil (intentional hint): it is not just racism and/or overestimating of the durability or sustainability of great achievements of the West in the past. It is also perverted islamophilia. There is a reason why I included that iconic Indian serviceman on the background!
The painting you see at 0:17 depicts one of the great statesmen of the Dutch past that were murdered by the fans of the ‘monarchy’: Johan de Witt. It is also a kind of tribute, but because of its gruesomeness not suitable as a basis for post cards. I think one of my next haptogonal paintings will be a portrait of just Johan, without his brother Cornelis.
